Amazon started blocking Meta ’s Muse AI agent from making purchases on its platform on the night of September 20, effectively cutting off one of the new assistant’s headline features just twelve days after launch. Users trying to shop Amazon through Muse now see a popup warning that “continued access by an unauthorized AI agent violates Amazon’s Conditions of Use, to which our customers have agreed. ” What happened and why Amazon pulled the plug According to reporting from GeekWire, Meta never told Amazon that Muse would be accessing its storefront on behalf of users. First, Muse reportedly doesn’t identify itself as an automated agent when it browses Amazon.
