A frozen pasta product sold at Walmart stores nationwide has beenrecalledbecause of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled pasta was sold frozen in 22-ounce yellow packages at Walmart stores nationwide. According to the FDA announcement, routine sampling conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found that the finished products may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Distribution of the product has been stopped while the company and the FDA continue investigating the cause. Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
