Singapore-based fast-fashion retailer Shein is planning to launch its long-awaited initial public offering in Hong Kong as soon as Wednesday next week, Reuters reports, citing two people familiar with the matter. This is part of the online retailer’s push to revive its public-market ambitions amid slowing growth and mounting pressure on its margins. Shein has been marketing the share offering to investors this week, one of the two sources and a third person familiar with the plans said. The company is targetinga valuation of between $30 billion and $40 billion in the IPO,Reuters reported last week. If achieved, that would represent a steep reduction from the valuation investors placed on Shein during its private-market fundraising rounds.
