A warehouse calls to report that the storefront sold units already committed to another order. An IT alert that should have fired on Wednesday morning isn’t spotted until Friday afternoon, after a customer has already called. These are predictable failure modes in a Shopify Plus ERP integration that do not account for the edge cases that define B2B distribution. For operations directors and IT leads already running a broken integration, the question is which failure mode is costing the most right now. The ERP pushes inventory counts to Shopify once per night, or in some cases once per hour, and the storefront runs on that snapshot until the next cycle fires.
